Edoardo Galli

Edoardo Galli PhD is a research scientist based in New Zealand.

He is originally from Italy and grew up between Lake Maggiore and Lake Como. He has always been fascinated by the human body and engineering. He attended Politecnico di Milano where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in biomedical engineering. He then moved to Switzerland for his Master of Science in biomedical engineering at ETH Zurich. At the end of 2017 he decided to move to the other side of the world to pursue a PhD in physics and brain-inspired technologies at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand.

Edoardo was a very active person who enjoyed the outdoors and was playing football and hockey almost every day of the week. After the first Covid lockdown in 2020, he met his now fiancé. Everything was going well until he received his first dose of the Pfizer Covid vaccine in September 2021. At the time he was finishing his PhD thesis and in a matter of days he went from the very active person he was to experiencing a plethora of symptoms from chest pains and palpitations to post exertional malaise. It was like he aged 60 years in 2 days.

After his injury, he immediately sought medical help and did almost every medical test under the sun. He has seen more than 10 doctors and specialists. Unfortunately he directly experienced the many flaws of the medical system and to this date he is still experiencing many the symptoms. During the past two years he decided to study the ever-evolving medical literature to take control of his health and wellbeing.

In August 2022 he decided to use his expertise and skills to help people who are in similar situation and joined React19. He is now a key member of the React19 research team working on multiple projects with the organisation.
