Describe the symptoms and the timeline of the reaction.

6/28/21

I am a 55 year old male. Prior to COVID I was active, walking 3 to 5 miles a day, and instructing Chinese Martial Arts once a week. I contracted COVID-19 in November of 2020. As a result of the COVID-19 I experienced lung damage (scarring in my lungs), arthritis/tendinitis like symptoms similar to Rheumatoid Arthritis, hyper sensitive, magnified taste of salty and sweet things, and migraine headaches. Prior to COVID I had experienced none of these symptoms. By April most of my symptoms had abated, I had received a cortisone shot for the arthritis symptoms which had completely eliminated them, my lung capacity was returning and I was feeling mostly back to normal.

In April 2021 I decided to get the COVID-19 Vaccine, as I had heard from various friends and relations of people who contracted COVID a second time after already having had it. Concerned that contracting it a second time could further damage my lungs I decided to err on the side of caution and get vaccinated. I received the Moderna vaccine. I had a minor reaction to the first dose, symptoms of which abated after a few days. Within a week after receiving the second dose the arthritis/tendinitis symptoms returned, (a second cortisone shot did not fully relieve the symptoms) additionally I began having difficulty breathing, a visit to the Pulmonologist revealed that I developed asthma and inflammation in my lungs as a reaction to the vaccine. I also developed migraine headaches again. It is now 2 months since I received the 2nd dose and I continue to have symptoms. At this point am unable to walk long distances without pulmonary distress or do any type of aerobic exercise, I continue to have constant pain in my joints.
