What was your life like before you received the COVID-19 vaccine?

My life was GREAT! I was healthy and strong - worked out three days a week in strength and weight training, had an extremely demanding job that I loved, competed on my horse in a speed and agility sport, kept up with a farm and gardens - did everything I wanted to do. I traveled - work and personal and loved life! I lived to the fullest extent I could.

Describe the symptoms and the timeline of the reaction.

I started with mid back pain 7/8/21 that increased to excrutiating back pain the next night. I had numbness in my hands, feet and a band around my body at the chest level. I went to the ER and was admitted after the symptoms increased and I started to lose function in my legs. The following day I was diagnosed with Guillain Barre and moved to ICU and put on IVIG. I was paralyzed head to toe the following day. After 5 days I was sent to a large university hospital as the doctors feared I would lose lung function and need a respirator. I started to show signs of improvement at that point without additional treatment and five days later moved to an inpatient rehab hospital. I spent two and half weeks there and went home walking with a walker. I had POTS, gastro issues (coudn't keep food in me) and lost 30 pounds. In December I started to decline and additional nerve studies showed I had CIDP (Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy) and was started back on bi-weekly IVIG and two weeks ago stared on an additonal medication (Cellcept) in hopes of stopping the continued antibody attack on my nerves.

Describe the solutions that helped your symptoms

IVIG treatments have helped. I also take Cromolyn Sodium that helps to alleviate the gastro issues.

Which solutions were not helpful?

Many medications they had me on in the hospital and rehab hospital gave me negative side effects

What would you like others to know?

We - who have vaccine injuries - deserve HELP! We need research, approved diagnosis and treatment. Doctors need to acknowledge our injuries are real and NOT anxiety! I am not anti vax, I just want help for those of us the vax hurt. I am getting treatment and it is helping, but not all my symptoms are being addressed or looked into and it's so frustrating - but at the same time I know how blessed I am to have an approved diagnosis and am able to get treatment that is helping.
