There is research dedicated to understanding certain COVID19 vaccine adverse reactions, like vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia (VITT; more commonly known as the blood clots associated with the AstraZeneca vaccine). However, it is becoming increasingly clear that harder to diagnose, chronic adverse events affect many COVID19 vaccine recipients. These symptoms are incredibly varied, but seem akin to long COVID. This survey aims to try and understand these long COVID-like COVID19 vaccine adverse reactions in more detail.

You are being invited to participate in this research study because you report having a chronic and prolonged reaction to any of the COVID19 vaccines. This means you are still having vaccine-related symptoms that started within 8 weeks of having your COVID19 vaccine, and have lasted for at least 4 weeks. It does not matter how many COVID19 vaccines you have had. You can participate whether or not you have had COVID19, as long as you report having a chronic COVID19 vaccine reaction.

Why is this study being done?

The aim of this research is to understand patient accounts of chronic "long COVID"-like COVID19 vaccine reactions with a view to guide clinical practice and research into this post-vaccine syndrome. In particular, we are interested in understanding the following things:

  • The time trend of when you got different symptoms after you had the COVID19 vaccine, and how these progress
  • The tests that medical professionals have done (e.g. what did they look at in your blood, scans etc)
  • Any tests you have done yourself (e.g. CellTrend tests)
  • The results of these tests
  • Treatments you have tried (with and/or without a prescription from your medical team) and whether these helped
  • Your general experience (there will be space at the end to tell your story and give extra details if you wish)
