Vaccine Injury of Lilian

What was your life like before you received the COVID-19 vaccine?

Life before my gastrointestinal issues started was normal. I could consume most food and beverages, besides dairy products. I had energy to go outside play beach volleyball, hiking and backpacking.

Describe the symptoms and the timeline of the reaction.

I got the initial Moderna vaccine in 1/2021 and the 1st booster in 2/2021. The immediate reactions to the vaccine were the expected ones, like body aches, pain at injection site etc.

Looking back, the gastrointestinal issues started usually around 10 to 14 days after vaccination. Out of the blue I would get moderate to severe diarrhea lasting for minimum of a week to multiple weeks. OTC medications would not help. I would get very tired and fatigued. By fall my situation got so bad that I went to go see my provider. I got a referral to a gastroenterologist who performed a colonoscopy and capsule endoscopy. Results came back negative fir Crohns and UC. In 11/2021 I got another booster to be able to travel home. The travel date was about 12ish days after the booster. My 1st week on my trip home I was sick with severe diarrhea. Back stateside in 1/2022 I contacted my provider and asked for a referral to a different gastroenterologist since the previous one wouldn't consider any treatment. New gastroenterologist performed some stool and blood test which indicated an ongoing inflammation. The medications that ended up helping is mesalamine. I ended up getting a booster shot in 10/2022 and 11/2023. After both booster shots same story. Forward to 2024 and I am dealing with a long term flare up since March of this year. For 2 months I had severe diarrhea, followed by very loose stool and intense gas lasting till today. I am extremely tired, fatigued and lost my appetite. I recently had another colonoscopy since the stool and blood tests only confirmed and inflammation. My PCP als referred me to an immunologist. Food sensitivity and related chemical dependents came back negative. So far none of the doctors I am seeing has made the connection to the vaccine. I feel like running up against one gigantic wall and it is pretty deflating.
