Vaccine Injury of Jon

What was your life like before you received the COVID-19 vaccine?

Before the vaccine life was normal, I was a picture of health and eager to be having a baby with my wife.

Describe the symptoms and the timeline of the reaction.

In April 2021 my wife was 4 months pregnant and we were living quite isolated outside of the city. With very little or no reliable research to be found on the potential side effects the vaccine during a pregnancy we decided that she would wait until after the birth, but our doctors and midwife strongly urged me to get the shot so as not to catch the virus and bring it into our home. This was still when all the so-called experts and TV personalities were insisting that getting the shot would prevent an individual from contracting the disease. I got round 1 of pfizer in April 2021 and within hours felt “off” and the next morning woke up with lymph nodes under both arms swollen to the size of what felt like small avocados. I also felt restless and some chest discomfort but considered it to be anxiety from the strange reaction. After a week of discomfort I saw out PCP, a nurse practitioner. My bloodwork showed me to be a perfectly healthy 36 y/o man and she agreed the lymph node swelling was due to the vaccine and called it an extreme immune system response. She said she couldn’t recommend against taking the second dose but wouldn’t blame me if I didn’t get it. After a month or so the lymphnode swelling went down but I would occasionally get a racing heart while at rest. We had a lot going on with a baby coming but I was very excited about our growing family and anybody who knows me would agree that it would be very out of character for me to feel stress to the point of random heart racing while at rest. Brief conversations about it with my PCP and our midwives provided no guidance other that to “keep an eye on it.”

Our baby was born healthy in September 2021. We had been paying close attention to the reopening of borders, testing protocols and vaccine mandates for travel and border crossing because my wife is from Europe and we knew we wanted to bring our baby to meet her family over the holidays. By December 2021 the Omicron variant was making its rounds and though it was clear the vaccine was not preventing contraction, mandates for full vaccination remained in place. In order to become “fully vaccinated” and meet the European entry requirements I opted to accept the J&J vaccine. I did not suffer any acute reactions to the J&J vaccine but the chest discomfort and racing heart began occurring more frequently. I notified my PCP in February 2022 that I was still concerned and she ordered a 48 hr EKG which produced nothing of note. My bloodwork continued to suggest I was in stellar health, but it was about this time that bouts with fatigue began to occur. Of course we had a baby, so my sleep schedule was off, but in retrospect this fatigue did not feel like normal tiredness. I managed ok until April 2022 when one day at work my body had a massive and sudden meltdown. I became so ill with fever, fatigue, malaise and brain fog that I thought I might be dying. I told my wife if I became incoherent or if she couldn’t wake me up to take me to the ER, but at this point I had lost faith in our medical system. Despite feeling near death I felt I had a better chance at a positive outcome by avoiding our medical institutions.

Over the course of April 2022 the suffering subsided to what would ultimately become a baseline misery. I learned that with 800-1000mg of ibuprofen every 4 or 5 hours I could function at work and stay on my feet and help with the baby at home, but my body was broken. My PCP tested for Lyme, RMSF, and west nile. Bloodwork remained normal but blood pressure was high. Her boss, the doctor who runs the clinic, hypothesized Equine Encephalitis, which is the point where I felt gaslit and unsure of who to turn to. My symptoms were wide ranging and included:
Severe night sweats, stiff neck, debilitating fatigue, fever, joint pain, cramped and arthritic hands, sharp pain in abdomen, chest and testicles, and extremely painful costocondritis that would get worse when I would consume gluten. The costocondritis was so bad that simply sneezing would cause me to collapse in pain. I could not lay on the floor and play with my baby because my rib cage hurt so bad. My PCP had a baby of her own in May 2022 so I was dealing directly with her boss, Dr. Tim Sullivan. Twice in the summer of 2022 he prescribed a week of prednisone, and while on steroids my symptoms went away. This is when it was clear to me that I was suffering severe inflammation from an autoimmune disorder, but the doctor continued to consider it a bit of a mystery and told me to continue eating however much ibuprofen it took to help me feel better.

Interestingly, in August 2022 I contracted Covid for the first time. I spent two days in bed and a week without tasting or smelling, but in the month after contracting the actual virus, the injury from the vaccine began to subside. Gradually I was taking less and less ibuprofen and by October I no longer needed it except for some days when the costocondritis flared back up. Its hard to remember exactly what feeling good felt like 3 years ago but I think I mostly feel good again. However, the 18 months after the first pfizer shot were harrowing and so difficult on me and my family.

Describe the solutions that helped your symptoms

For me, prednisone or prednisolone relieved the suffering, double doses of ibuprofen helped calm the inflammation. Contracting the covid virus seemed to cause the vaccine injury to subside.

Which solutions were not helpful?

Teas, tinctures and dietary changes never really helped.

What would you like others to know?

I am grateful to be alive and so sorry to all who are suffering. I am sorry if you were pressured or mandated into getting the vaccine against your wishes. For a long time I felt very lonely in my suffering because I knew it was the vaccine but so many of my friends and family would have considered me to be some nutso if I told them what was going on. I am grateful for a website where we can begin to see how common it was to be negatively affected by these products.
